A13. Perform solder repair of electrical wiring.

            13. Perform solder repair of electrical wiring. I accomplished this task about three weeks ago. I created a fused jumper wire out of two pieces of wire, two alligator clips, and a fuse holder. I soldered those things together thus accomplishing my task of soldering electrical wire.

A12. Repair wiring harness.

            12. Repair wiring harness. I accomplished this very task by taking appart a wiring harness and showing it to Jerry while it was taken apart. I then put it back together as if it was all new parts. In this way I accomplished the task of repairing a wiring harness.

A11. Replace electrical connectors and terminal ends.

Replace electrical connectors and terminal ends. I accomplished this by taking a wire connector and taking it apart and putting it back together the way I found it.  and it was functional.  I also installed terminal ends on wires that I used to assemble relays.

A10. Inspect and test switches, connectors, relays, solenoid solid state devices, and wires of electrical/electronic circuits; determine necessary action. P-1.

Inspect and test switches, connectors, relays, solenoid solid state devices, and wires of electrical/electronic circuits; determine necessary action. A accomplished this by testing switches and connectors on snap circuits in the classroom by the shop. I tested relays and learned how they work by reading the book and by completing the Argo modules and by testing the relays we had in class.

A9. Inspect and test fusible links, circuit breakers, and fuses; determine necessary action.

Inspect and test fusible links, circuit breakers, and fuses; determine necessary action.  I accomplished this by testing the fuses in the subaru when testing the brake light switch in class about three and a half weeks ago. we tested fuses in the

A8. Use wiring diagrams during the diagnosis (troubleshooting) of electrical/electronic

Use wiring diagrams during the diagnosis (troubleshooting) of electrical/electronic circuit problems. I accomplished this by looking up wiring diagrams for assigned vehicles to test tail light circuits in the subaru. I found the wiring diagrams on All Data on my computer and I printed them off.

A7. Diagnose the cause(s) of excessive key-off battery drain (parasitic draw); determine necessary action.

Diagnose the cause(s) of excessive key-off battery drain (parasitic draw); determine necessary action. I accomplished this by testing the parasitic draw on the Ford Expedition. I did some reserch on All Data about the specified draw with the key off. Needless to say, the parasitic draw was within spec, although we had to wait two days for thge modules to fall asleep, the draw was within spec.

A6. Use wiring diagrams during the diagnosis (troubleshooting) of electrical/electronics.

Use wiring diagrams during the diagnosis (troubleshooting) of electrical/electronics. I accomplished this by creating a jumper wire and using it to activate the horn on the subaru to make sure it was opperable. I also read in the Electrical book about it. I really learned how to do this.

A5. Check operation of electrical circuits with a test light.

Check operation of electrical circuits with a test light. I accomplished this by using a test light to check the horn circuit on the subaru in the shop. It is important to make sure to attach the aligator clip part to a suitable ground and the needle part of the test light to a voltage to tset for it's presence. If the test light turns on, then the circuit has continuity.

A4. Demonstrate knowledge of the causes and effects from shorts, grounds, opens, and resistance problems in electrical/electronic circuits.

Demonstrate knowledge of the causes and effects from shorts, grounds, opens, and  resistance problems in electrical/electronic circuits. I accomplished this by reading the chapter in the Electrical book that covered this. I also accomplished this task by testing voltages around opens and testing high resistances and observing lights become dimmer with higher resistance.

A3. Demonstrate proper use of a digital multimeter (DMM) when measuring source voltage, voltage drop (including grounds), current flow, and resistance.

Demonstrate proper use of a digital multimeter (DMM) when measuring source voltage, voltage drop (including grounds), current flow, and resistance. I accomplished this by assembling and testing source voltage, voltage drop, current flow, and resistance on the snap circuit kits. Also, I accomplished these things by completing the Argo modules.

A2. Demonstrate knowledge of electrical/electronic series, parallel, and series-parallel circuits using principles of electricity (Ohm’s Law).

Demonstrate knowledge of electrical/electronic series, parallel, and series-parallel circuits using principles of electricity (Ohm’s Law).  I demonstrated knowledge of these things by testing and making calculations on snap circuits in parallel, series, and series parallel. Also, I accomplished those things by passing the Argo modules on Argo.

A1. Research applicable vehicle and service information, vehicle service history, service precautions, and technical service bulletins.

Research applicable vehicle and service information, vehicle service history, service precautions, and technical service bulletins. I accomplished this by utilizing All-Data and Pro Demand to research information and specifications for assigned vehicles. Also, I had used this software back in high school when I went to the Copper Country ISD.
